The Speciality and Fine Food Fair at London Olympia is an annual trade event showcasing a vast selection of high quality food from UK and abroad. At last year’s event, I came across an Irish Food area run by Bord Bia (The Irish Food Board). I’m a big fan of the quality and taste of Irish artisan produce, and was really happy to see a wide variety of delicious food ranging from chocolate and cake to seaweed and smoked salmon.
There was also a cookery demonstration given by TV presenter, chef and food writer, Catherine Fulvio from Ballyknocken House and Cookery School in County Wicklow. Catherine made some fantastic recipes and I spoke her after her demonstration. As well as talking about the breadth and quality of Irish produce on show, Catherine also told me about her life long love of food, and her belief in consuming local produce and living from ‘field to fork’.
