Do you love exquisite chocolates and decadent desserts? Also, does the idea of afternoon tea served with sumptuous chocolaty treats excite you? I can safely say yes to both of these questions and was really thrilled when I met Angie McNee at The Foodies Festival in Hampton Court.  Angie is the founder and owner of East Putney-based, La Sagra ( who produce luxurious, dessert chocolates called Squisitezza.

The inspiration behind the La Sagra/Squisitezza concept are Italy’s many harvest festival celebrations which are known as Sagra.  Angie also has links with Italy as she lived there for several years and was enamoured by its food culture.

Squisitezza are rich, intense pots of chocolate heaven that are produced in a wide range of flavours, ranging from Cardamom and Pistachio to Blood Orange.  They can be enjoyed chilled or warmed, and can be eaten directly from the pot with a spoon or with Angie’s delicate, handmade biscuits.

Aside from producing exquisite Squisitezza, Angie also organises secret afternoon teas.  These afternoon teas are a variant on the idea of the increasingly popular concept of underground supper clubs.  You can enjoy buttered crumpets, finger sandwiches, scones, homemade cake and Squisitezza served by a hospitable host in a relaxed home environment, you will definitely enjoy one of La Sagra’s supper clubs.
