In September 2011, I visited an exciting foodie event in Trafalgar Square called Malaysia Night. Malaysia Night was a special event organised by Malaysia Kitchen to the showcase the best Malaysian street food in the London. There were more than 20 Malaysian restaurants (including Satay House, Awana, Tukdin and Makan Cafe) serving a wide variety of street food inspired dishes ranging from laksa and nasi goreng to satay and beef rendang.
The event really opened my eyes to diversity, variety and depth of flavour found in Malaysian cuisine. Masterchef 2011, Tim Anderson was at the event, showcasing his take on Malaysian food. The food was aromatic and tasted superb. After the demonstration, I spoke to Tim about what excites him about Malaysian cooking.
